Essex County Council started moving their people into the building yesterday. I get in to face a litany ofcomplaints. From what I can see they're all minor teething. Some of the problems the ECC people are facing are snagging problems as they are the first people to see the issues on this floor.
As usual, the lighting is the first major issue. I tell John to sort it out overnight rather than in front of all these people. The mobile panic alarm is delivered and we test it to make sure it works. However, it doesn't seem to work from the ground to the first floor. I might have to buy a booster.
I look at the specifications from the ICT guys for the various pieces of work that we want to have done. Some are ok but I raise some queries on the costs of some of the elements iin the others.
It was John's birthday last week so I take him out for a beer. I take the opportunity to go through some of the project nmanagement pitfalls - I'm coaching/mentoring him through this process.
