Its the first Wednesday of the month. I usually head down to London to meet up with my ex-BT mates stopping off at Chelmsford first to meet with Pascale if she's free.
Got a few issues in the office to sort out first. Still trying to sort out the panic alarm system for Essex CC. I speak to the company and they say that it wil work the way I want it to and that they can deliver by Monday if I get the order in today. I organise for it to go through.
I put through some of the invoices for payment and just hope that they'll go through on time as someof these guys are leaning on me for payment.
Head down to Chelmsford and meet with Paul first, He was supposed to have spoken to Barclays about wrapping up the investment club. As usual, he has done nothing and prevaricates about it. Complains that its been dropped onhim when he was the one who put his hand up and said he'd do it even when people were offering to take it off his hands,
Chris pops in just as I'm about to leave - I used to work with him in Chelmsford Borough Council. Good man to work with (and enjoys his beer!). Have a chat with himand arrange to meet up at the beer festival next week.
I finally meet up with Pascale. We have a long chat about lots of things. Nice to catch up and spend time together. Alex phones and says that he can pop down so I stay on to have a beer with him. Pascale goes off to her evening class but I stay on with Alex and we chat some more. This runs on into a meal as its late evening now. I have decided to give the London trip a miss. I'd probably fall asleep on the train if I tried to get to London now!
He eventually heads off to meet Pascalewho has come out of her class and I head off home.
