We're halfway through the year! It's rushing away from us at whatever speed Meech recently said in her IF posting.
Blake and I take our usual Saturday morning walk. I'm in two minds as to whether I take a coat or not as it is quite warm but changeable and likely to rain. I decide to forego the coat as its too warm.
The flipping farmer has not been looking after the footpaths - should that be feetpath? - and the grass on the paths are longer than the crops. Unfortunately for me and Blake it means that the grass is soaking wet especially at ground level. Blake is soaked 10 yards into the field and my shoes and socks are full of water with my chinos soaked to the ankle. It gets worse in the middle part of the walk where the weeds and overgrowth are shoulder high. Luckily, there are no stinging nettles. I still end up being soaked from above my knees down to my toes. Blake is a bit shorter and he just gets completely soaked.
Partway on the way back and we get caught in a shower of rain. I shelter under a tree for 3 or 4 minutes. Blake stands and stares at me for the whole time we're waiting. He doesn't take his eyes off of me once. It is quite disconcerting. He is either very worried about me and is looking at me to make sure that I'm OK or he is checking to see that I'm not hiding from something scary. I guess that it could be a mixture of the two.
It blows over and the sun comes out. We head home in relative warmth.
Apart from eating we spend some time in the garden. Our social life has been a bit hectic over the past few weekend and that combined with the rainy weekends has meant that we haven't done as much wit it as we should, want and need to.
Our fish are quite pleased as I clean out the overgrown weeds and oxygenators which releases some food for them to gorge on and there is more room for them to swim through.
