Its pouring with rain again. I'm definitely getting paler. The raincoat is back out and very handy.
I stop off and get a pressie for Madison- its her birthday on Monday. I check out the various toys, discount the ones with tiny pieces, those that need batteries and those that she'll outgrow within months. I find a cute caterpillar wich comes apart and each part has separate items to catch the imagination. Turns out to be a good pick as Marian has independently bought a 'hungry caterpillar' card!
We meet with Capita to discuss the implementation. Its been a bit shaky in my eyes but don't want to be negative at this stage. I say that I'll save comments for our post mortem of the implementation.
I go through the Essex CC snagging list and figure out where we are on each of them. We have sticking pointon the issue of the acoustic damping of the prefab offices and I think we'll have arguments with them right up to the end on this front. I write it up and send off to them.
I review the door plans and figure out what has been done and what's still outstanding. Speak to Steve about getting the carpenters in to review the situation. Fix a date for them to come over on Friday.
I get an email from one of the wallies telling me that te gutters are oveflowing. Internal refurbishment has suddenly become facilities management! I go and have a look and bump into Chris the handyman. He knows what the problem is and goes up to sort it out. Lovely man!
One of the keys for the cupboards has disappeared. Its the end of the world as the ICT guys can't store their machinery securely! Shucks! The end of the world is with us. I manage to track it down and avert disaster.
The rest of the afternoon is spent trawling through invoices and checking the finances left.
