Last night's heavy rains have caused problems. The front doorway was flooded, the ducts in the roof have failed and water has leaked throuh to the corridor. All round very disappointing! I raise the problems with Steve but he's quite distracted by the new job of his. I think I'm going to have to escalate to his boss.
We spend some more time with Capita on the new ICT contract. There's a lot to discuss but I have another meeting lined up. Cherie takes the ICT meeting elsewhere and I run the Refurb Project Board.
There's also alot to discuss in here running from finance through to new water filters and coffee machines to the new restaurant area and the provision of TV facilities for the football and Olympics. We need to handle this to reduce absenteeism and to provide a good working environment.
When i ge back to my desk I find the 'street party' in full flow. Sandwiches of various types, sausage rolls, crisps, nuts, cheese, pickled onions, scones with cream and real strawberries. Really nice spread. I forgot to get wine on the way in so its orange juice, coke and lemonade. Great idea in spite of that and we all have a bit of fun over lunch.
I fire off my email about the new ICT contract to all staff and also do one for the councillors.
