26th June - back on track

Whoo Hoo! I'm now back on track with this blog with this one bringing me completely up to date.

Another glorious morning. The forecast was not great but the actuality is fine. The trains are running on time - that was the kiss of death! They will now run like shit!

I've started reading the 5th book in the Game of Thrones series. I had held off for a while but have now decided to pick it up before I forget what happened in the previous stories.

I have team meeting today. We have a general chat and get up to date with each other. I promise to take the next one off-site.

We've got a workshop tomorrow to look at protocols and procedures and problems in allowing and possibly encouraging people to use their own devices - phones, tablets, PC's - to connect to council networks for work as well as domestic use. I do some reading up on this.

I get a request to take some Essex CC people round their new accommodation. I meet them and do so. They are really appreciative and gushing about the space they're moving into. Its apparently much better than anything they have now. Whilst I'm walking them round I discover some of the overhead fans don't work and probably never did.

I then get a call from the Building Control officer requesting a tour of the floor. He discovers a few more problems with the fire alarms/sounders and the lights.  What a bummer! Hope it doesn't affect sign off.
