I provide another tour of the second floor for Essex CC people. This lot are worried about the location of the toilets and how many there are on the floor.! I guess it takes all sorts. Nothing should really surprise me now.
I've arranged to meet with Steve and the partition guys to look at the sound-proofing of the rooms for Essex CC. We consider all the different options and come up with a solution which doesn't disturb the work we've already done by room much. I ask them to get the costinginfo to me asap. He offers to send it to Steve via email but Steve has been having email problems so I ask that its sent direct to me.
I review all the work outstanding on the refurbishment including the snagging. There's still a lot to be done and I start chasing Steve so that he can chase the sub-contractors. I look through the plans for the last phase of the refurbishment. Make some corrections and republish to the people involved. I agree with Steve that we'll start the main work on 16th July.
The bicycle shelter is coming along nicely. The earth hs been scraped out and the new retaining wall has been built.
G out to the pub and grab a meal with a couple of beers. Then off to Sainsburys fo some wine, nuts, olives, tortilla chips and napkins. This is in preparation for out quiz night that we're having in the office nigh. A charity night for one of our colleagues who recently had a stroke. All the money from the night are going to help her make some alterations to her house to help her cope with the result of the stroke - mainly affects her mobility.
I meet Marian who has driven over and we go in to meet up with the rest of the team. Its Trudy and Jen who work for me and their respective partners Tony and Dan. They've brought their own nibbles and eats so we have a great impromptu picnic.
We don't do too bad. I manage to win a bottle of wine in the raffle and we come in 4th out of 15 teams. But we're 18 points adrift of the winning team.
