10th June

Out with Blake for our wekend walk. Nice morning. Great for walking.

Marian has her paintings on exhibition - part of her painting class is that she and her fellow students put their works up for public viewing with an option to buy! Sh has a stint on the door so we go off to that in the afternoon. Her paintings look good and I think are some of the best. There are some  very good pieces but there is also an awful lot of very ordinary stuff.

We have been invited over to Keith and Yvonne who had planned to come along to the exhibition but had double booked a family do. Yvonne feels guilty so has invited us to join them after their main meal. We get there in time for the fruit and cheese and biscuits courses. We spend a great interlude with them, Hannah and Kate and Yvonne's brother Billy and his family. We sit outside in the early evening and look at the tide come in on the river.

Back home, the shed roof is coming apart and is starting to leak. Heavy rain is forecast and I'm worried about the leaks. I spend some time putting temporary roofing in place and finish it just before it starts drizzling.
