7th May - bank holiday

Up early to feed the dogs and bump into Pascale. She wants to head home early-ish so Marian and I set up an early breakfast of the usual fruit salad, eggs, bacon and coffee.

More chatting and gossip as she brings us up to date with the friends she met with last night. They are all young people she grew up with and who spent a lot of their young (and old) teenage years over at ours. We know some of them quite well and like all of them so its really great to hear about them and where they're at in their current lives.

She packs up and heads off with Colin - Alex is back today so she is really keen to see him and to be there when he gets back.

Blake and I set off on our walk. Its quite warm and I start working up a sweat not too far into the walk. The fields are not as water logged, there is no water running off of them into the streams and they, in turn, are very low and not as fast flowing as before. The ground is not soggy and I am not sliding around as much as I was on Saturday.

Its raining again so I continue clearing and re-populating the back room. In total I remove four or five bags of stuff - recyclable as well as other rubbish.
I manage to empty four of the boxes we took out of the room for the re-decoration - there were twelve so a least I'm making progress which is better than we can say for the immigration officers at Britain's airports!

The room is starting to feel more 'lived in'.
