5th May

Blake and I go off for our weekend walk. The fields are still water logged, streams overflowing, marshes boggy and the puddles are puddly. Slipping and sliding, we cover the outbound and return journey. I wear boots today so my feet stay nice and dry!

At the half way stage I get Blake to pose for me and I get a great picture of him looking off into the distance. I don't really. I have to take several pix of him before get this one.

Fruit salad for me and Pascale (porridge and yoghurt do Marian) followed by coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon and toast and a lot more conversation.

Pascale and Colin head back home and I get out into the garden. The lawn needs mowing - too much sun and rain makes the grass grow very, very quickly. I notice that the lawnmower has a loose exhaust and have a look at it. Suddenly realise that it must have been like this for some time as the loose bolt has actually melted and that the engine is not hot enough to do this. It must have happened some time ago. I put it back together and get on with it. It works fine - until next time!

After lunch I get back in the garden and do some more tidying up and clearing of weeds etc. It's needed.
