In the office I'm asked to check out the positioning of pictures in the building. Our Chief Exec had told me what he wanted but had also told the Comms & Marketing team. I duck out of it as this is their field and I don't really want to tread on their toes.
The electricians need to do some work labelling up the fuseboxes and ask if they could shot down power tonight from 5.30. I say I'll do some checking and ask them to get back to me later. Email round the building to see what problems this will cause. It turns out that there are some meetings on tonight so I agree with the electricians that we'll do it in the morning before the offices open. Its their own fault. They must have known that they needed a shutdown when they started this job and this is the first request we've had with just 6 hours notice.
I get complaints because of the smells from the adhesive being put down for the main staircase flooring. We've had this for every stair case as the floors are refurbished. Basically they've got to grin and bear it!
In the afternoon we have to meet with the assessor of our Customer Service Excellence Standard. We do well and get the nod to go through to the next stage.
