12th May - Andy's birthday

Normal Saturday walk with Blake. Sunny. Its warm when walking with the wind but cool walking into it. I take some pix to compare against the past months. Three of them and their equivalent from April are below. If you go back four weeks you'll find the match to March.

Mirabel pops in to give us some German sausage from her recent work visit over there. She is still help in Deutsch Telecom to build their mobile phone site. We catch up on gossip and talk about going to the newly opened Italian restaurant in the next village. I suggest that we should try out the local pub for drinks. Its just been reopened and we need to see what the new people are like and what kind of food they do. We make tentative arrangements to go over there tonight.

I start decorating the downstairs loo. We empty it out and I get Marian's sanding machine out and do the paintwork preparation.

I just finish it and am about to start the barbecue when Warren drops in. It looks like the court has dismissed the court case his previous firm tried to take out against him. He has been defending himself with some help from Marian. He needs her to confirm his suspicions by translating the legalese of a letter from the court. She confirms that he can now relax. He also confirms that they'reup for a beer or two in thepub.

We pop over to their place after dinner and are invited to inspect the new African style hut they have built in the garden. It looks good, is waterproof and should be ready for use soon. We have a couple of glasses of German wine with them and sample some of the German sausage she brought back.

At the pub its very quiet for a Saturday night. The pub has been close for so long people have been finding alternative places. They've got a long way to go to redevelop their clientele. We chat to the landlady who says that she is there for five years and is quite keen to make it work.

Drinks, chat, drinks, ideas for mals out, gossip, chat, drinks.

Afterwards its back to us for more drinks, cheese and biscuits before we fall into our respective beds.
