Early walk for Blakey and me! I think some more about my new mental project. My research has shown me that I need to download the development environment and tools unto a Windows machine! I find that amazing. I'll have to dig out the laptop to do this work as I've recently given Phil my desktop machine.
Back home for breakfast and to be changed before we head over to Pascale. She's having family and friends over to her to celebrate her birthday. Phil has borrowed a people carrier and is taking us and Blake as well as the food and cake along with Steve and Laura. He arrives promptly and we set off in convoy (Carla and Madison are also in their car - Dave is not well).
Its not the greatest day for a bbq but at least its not raining. Colin and Blake keep us entertained and Alex keeps the chimneatopped up to ensue that everyone who stands around outside is kept warm. She's got about 20 people over and its a real mix of friends from Chelmsford and London and family. Nice to see some of her London friends who we haven't seen for a while.
She and Alex have done well. Its a great day and the food and drink flows well.
Poor Phil is nor feeling well and he and Brenda leave at about six. Marian and Blake and I decide to stay on and travel back later.
We all pour into a 14 seater taxi and go to the pub. The youngsters are going round the bars but Marian and I are just going to have a drink or two in the pub and then head home. We were going to get the train but I decide that its been a long enough day and organise a cab to take us back. Luckily, the taxi company are quite happy to take dogs so Blake's happy as well!
Great day and so lovely to spend it with her.
