29th April

More rain. Blake and I are growing webbed feet and gills! The ground is squishy, muddy and boggy. The streams and channels are full of rainwater runoff from the fields. It looks like the sluices have been opened and everything is being emptied into the sea. We have a hosepipe ban, floods and water being channelled into the sea. What are the water authorities doing here? Is this incompetence or what?

My thighs, bum and hips ache. I realise that the soft ground makes me walk differently as I have to balance in the slipperiness.

A leisurely breakfast and crossword. I then load the car and we had off to Pascale and Alex.

We have a chat and a couple of beers before Alex and I start on the shed. We put in the windows, set up a couple of shelves and make the door waterproof. Its now in a position for them to start using properly. That was the aim of the day so mission accomplished on that front!

Pascale has made a piri-piri chicken which we cook on the bbq and Marian has made a creme brulee dessert. I've bought the wine and Alex has provided the beer. The two dogs provide entertainment. Poor Colin still has his funnel as his wound is not fully healed as yet. He's irrepressible as ever though and bounces around the garden pouncingon unsuspecting flower-pots! They don't stand a chance.

The weather does improve: stays dry but overcast whilst Alex and I work on the shed and the sun obliges by coming out when we do the BBQ. We eat indoors though as its still quite cool.
