Blake and I have a stroll in the rain. I'm feeling more diluted as the week goes on! Actually its not too bad. Its not like going to work in the rain. When I do that I have to sit in my wet clothes and shoes and wait till I dry off. When I take Blake out locally, if I get wet I can change when I get home. It makes quite a difference physically and mentally.
He chases a rabbit in the field - well, it looks like grass which I assume will be harvested as hay! He's actually gaining as it runs in the path left in the field by the wheels of the watering machine. It finally veers off into the grass and he has to give up as its chest-high for him and impossible to run through with any speed.
I give him a good rubdown when we get home as he is wet from the rain and from being in the fields. He loves being rubbed down with a towel. Always has done, since he was a puppy. He makes it a pleasure to do it as he so obviously enjoys it.
After breakfast I get together the shelves and brackets and a few other bits and pieces to take over to Pascale and Alex tomorrow.
I then start tidying one of the cupboards in the back room. It houses the games we bought when Pascale was growing up, her video tapes and various bits and pieces. Its like taking a walk down the memory lane of Pascale growing up. We've decided to keep the games but to get rid of the tapes. I end up with three boxes of video tapes. The original value must be in excess of a thousand pounds! And we'll probably end up throwing them away.
Marian selects pictures for the room. We've decided to cut down on the number of pictures in the room.
We have an early dinner - I brave the bloody rain to do a BBQ whilst Marian pays homage to the wintry conditions by doing a complementary broccolli cheese - as we're going out tonight.
Alan and Jill pick us up along with their friend Marissa. We're going o the church in the next village where Jill is singing in an amateur choir along with a local orchestra and a school choir to do a couple of pieces: Vaughan Williams and Karl Jenkins. Its very good. I haven't been to something like this for a while and its better than sitting at home watching telly.
We have supper (late) at ours. Cold meats, cheese, Marian's homemade bread, olives, stuffed peppers, sundried tomatoes and wine. Oh! And loads of chat. Marian and Jill could talk for England in teOlympics if that was made into a sport. Probably a lot more interesting than synchronised swimming!
