Another wet morning! This is getting boring!

In the office there are a couple of problems. A set of lights does not appear to have a controller and one of the people has asked that the lights be reset but we can't. John agrees to discuss with the electricians. Essex County Council are running a travel seminar to which our people have been invited but our team have published the wrong venue. I have a chat with them to redress the problem. The carpenters are in putting up dado rails round the small meeting rooms to save the walls from being marked by the chairs if they bump into the walls. I book out the meeting rooms for them so that they can do it during the day.

I meet with my director to discuss progress, finances and issues - he's been away for 3 weeks. Whilst we're chatting, John interrupts to say that the roof leak has been traced to under one of the solar panels recently installed. The problem is twofold: we need to get the panels off so that the Roofers can fix the tiles but worse than that the scaffolding is due to come down tomorrow morning! We can't take it down if people need to get on the roof. Steve is refusing to take any action unless I tell him that he can. He gives John quite a hard time on this. I phone and leave a message on his voicemail telling him.

I eventually speak to him and talk through his concerns. He is worried about the warranty with the solar panel installers as well as being responsible for any future leaks in the area. I write him an email to absolve him! We are going to have problems on Monday trying to get the solar panel installers, the scaffolders and the roofers together.
