I take Petal and Blake out for their walk. Lovely morning. I feel really sorry that we can't take Colin. He jumps up at the French doors and looks accusingly at me but its not right to take him.
Pascale and Alex join us for breakfast. Colin is over the moon to see them - he's still full of life and energy. The dogs play with each other - they're gradually accepting Colin's new funnel.
They admire our new room and we sit in it and chat for a while. We make plans to go over and see them next weekend so that we could help them finish off the shed.
When they leave I spend some time outside sorting out the water butts. Two of them are on stands which have started buckling and are in danger of falling over. I'm a bit concerned as they are all connected and if one goes then the whole lot will be pulled over. I manage to empty them into the garden and put them on new bases.
Spend more time on the room, gradually bringing the furniture back into it.
Warren and Mirabel turn up to pick up Petal just as I'm about to start the BBQ. We sit and chat with them for a bit. They had a great time in Luca and Florence and are looking forward to the return visit!
The house feels quite empty with just the three of us in it!
