17th April - onwards and upwards with the decorating

Up early today and straight on to the decorating.

First on the list are a coupleof odd jobs - some sanding down of holes I'd filled yesterday and a couple of areas we'd spotted by the window that needed a bit of attention.

Then the rubbing down of the gloss paintwork. Marian had bought a nifty little handheld sander which is just right for the job. It means that I can push through it in under 3 hours and finish it by lunchtime. This is the messiest job out of the way.

After lunch I take all the dust cloths out and give the whole room including the woodwork a good vacuuming. Its spotless when i finish but means that we don't have to worry about trekking dust and grit through the house.

We then tackle the ceiling and the bit above the picture rail. Marian gets up the ladder with the paintbrush and I use the long handled roller and do the ceiling. We do fairly well and finish it before dinnertime. Well, the first coat! I'll do the second one tomorrow.

After a shower I retire to the garden to have a beer, do the BBQ and write up this blog!
