Pascale and Alex drop me off at the station on their way back home in the morning.
In the office I find out that the decorating firm working on our refurbishment has gone bust! The are supposed to be finishing off the front of the building but can't. We're going to have to find a way to get round this.
We have a meeting of the four councils and the ICT contractor to discuss the new ICT contract in the afternoon. Colchester has now gone live and all has gone well. We are due next on 1st June and I'm getting nervous about the preparation for our setup. However, Lee from Colchester is very complimentary about the new company and it bodes well for us.
We finish early and Cherie drops me off home. We chat on the way back about the ins and outs of the meeting. I'm very impressed by her. She's astute, political and has a good grasp on people and their motivation. She also knows how to impress and win over people. She is certainly Chief Exec material. I can say this with certainty as she offered me this job a year ago! Seriously, she's bloody good.
The house feels a bit cold. I check the boiler and find that its gone off! Our biennial problem has popped up and we need Mike to come in and service it. Luckily, its springtime - would've been ten times worse in winter - and I can use the immersion heater to provide hot water if the solar panel falters.
