Its a wet morning but Blake and I brave it and head off to the fields. Along the way I notice that the hedges have been trimmed. Quite a severe haircut but it must be OK for them as they always seem to recover.
After breakfast I pick up Phil. He's helping me out with the Audi: trying to fix the airbag sign and the ABS light that flashes. I've loaded the workshop manuals for Skoda, VW and Audi on the laptop and we're using it to figure out how to fix the ABS problem. On the way we stop at Halfords to get new wiper blades. When we try to replace them we find that the front ones are wrong!
Laura has been having a problem with her car and she brings it over for Phil to check out. The fanbelt needs replacing. He sorts it out and she takes me back to Halfords to replace the wiper blades. Have a chat on the way : she's doing OK, she and Steve have bought their tickets for their trip part way round the globe and have started making their plans for travel later in the year.
The guys at Halfords look up the car on their system and identify what wiper blades we need. However, back at the TA centre we find that one of the replacement wiper blades is too long! God! This is a one at a time replacement process!
Phil has had a go at fixing the airbag light (but we need to do a reset of the system to clear the warning light). He has also figured out how to get o the ABS controller but thinks we should write to Audi first.
I stop and have a coffee with him and Bren and have a quick catch up on each other.
Back home (the new wiper blades are great in the rain and snow - yes, its snowing again!), I watch the France v Ireland rugby match. Good game that end in a draw.

Vive la France! you know I'm a die hard Francophile, i just can't help. LOL
ReplyDeletewho is Laura? is that our Steve and girlfriend?
We were supporting Ireland cos if they beat France then England would move up! Yeah, Laura I'd Steve's lady - they're planning to do a trip round the world (ish) soon.
