23rd March - first day without a coat!

Another fabulous day. I decide to leave the coat at home. Its warm enough and I get away with it.

The lighting engineer has turned up and we walk the site with him - especially the area where we have been having so a many problems. He has some ideas and gives us some recommendations for the elctricians when they turn up on Monday. He also shows us how to us the special gizmo we have bought to control the lights.

I give my report to the much decimated project panel - me, my boss Cheri and her director Chris. Afterwards I take Chris on a tour of the second floor o show him how its progressing. I'm still optimistic that we can make the revised date. H wants me to show the two councillors around on Monday.

Meet with Cherie and Ian (our ICT manager) to discuss the possibility of providing network services to the county council. Afterwards we discuss the strategy for upgrading the council to Windows 7 and Office 2010. Neither are easy and both are expensive but we have to do it and we need to do not within the next 15 months - money will be an issue.

I draft the annual reports for the three people I'm directly responsible for and sent it to them for comment.

Write up the progress report for the project and send it round the council to let them know that we've got a slippage and bringing them up to date with where we are now. Replicate that information on our intranet and the had for home.

I'd rashly promised to do a barbecue tonight but is too dark and cold by the time I get home. It'll be better on Sunday when the clocks change.
