This is a red letter day for Marian. She has invited Ray and Rita over to a Mothers Day meal. They have said yes and are actually coming. This is the first visit from them in a long time. They cry off every time we invited them recently. We have also invited Phil and Been over as we want to mark Bren's birthday. Her birthday and Mother's Day is actually on the 18th March but we're going over to Pascale for that so we're doing an early celebration for both occasions.
Its another gorgeous day. I am wearing too many layers and am sweating when we're just 10 minutes into the walk. Nevertheless, it's a lovely walk. I take a pic of the trees in the sunlight and end up with a weird purple streak in it. Somehow or another the colour of the sleeve of my jacket is reflected into the lens and comes out as a streak. Weird!
As we walk along the field we can hear someone on a PA system in the distance. Blake is absolutely puzzled by this. He stops and stares into the distance to try and figure out what's happening. There's nothing to see so he is even more confused. There is actually a point-to point horse racing track nearby and I suspect that there are races on today.
Marian and Phil go and pick up Ray and Rita. He is very weak on his legs and it is a real effort for him to get out. Heputson a brave face today and makes it over to us and, with help, to the table.
We have a lovely afternoon over the meal. Very pleasant and good to see Ray and Rita out.
After they have gone back home we catch up with the rugby. Its England vs France. England win so its a good result. They are actually playing well for such a young team and show promise for the future.
I pack up the PC and pass it on to Phil. We're gonna move Marian's machine downstairs so this one is now redundant. Its a good machine and I'm really sorry to see it go. Its like losing a pet and this is the fourth one to go. Sob. Sob.

i like light leaks...or Bokeh they can be very interesting in photos.i remember years ago, Ray being very shocked as he wondered why I dressed like a boy. in the days of my jeans, lumber jack shirt and sleeveless ski vest and chunky laced up winter boots!...LOL
ReplyDeleteYeah. I remember your gear in those days. That's what you were wearing when you came up to go to Kent uni - when we got pissd in the pub near the Barbican (in the pics from a couple of days ago). Bokeh! I don't know that term.
