I wake to a white, white world. Feed the dogs and let them out. At first Colin does no want to venture out. He's only 6 months and has never seen snow before so he's very wary of it. He eventually goes out and I have the hardest time getting him back into the house 'cos he's enjoying it so much. He ends up looking like a little snowball as he's so furry and the snowy clings to his fur.
I take Blake out for a walk over the fields. It's too deep for Colin. Its hard work getting through the snow as its so powdery and deep. I give us an hour outside and consider that enough as it takes a lot of effort and energy to struggle through the snow. I'm really glad that I invested in these fur lined ankle boots. After breakfast we get a call from Pascale and Alex to say that they've got a train. I go out to pick them up but can't get the car off the drive as the snow is so deep. They arrive at the house whilst Marian and I are still trying to clear a route for the car.
Marian cooks a roast dinner with all the trimmings. It goes down really well in this weather and is very welcome especially for Pascale and Alex who are not still trying to thaw out and to warm up.
We help them load up and they set off home. We're worried that the roads might be bad for them but it turns out to be OK and they get home safely.
We relax and watch the Ireland v Wales rughby match. Wales wins - we're quite pleased as they are the other team we normally support (after England).
