28th Feb - not the last day of Feb

This is usually the last day in February but its been thrown out cos this is a Leap Year!

Good journey in - I'm in the middle of part 1 of Book 3 in the Game of Thrones series. Still hooked and it helps to make the time fly past.

I am immediately called about the lights on the ground floor and promise to speak to the manager about it.

Meet with Steve the site manager and go through the works programme. The PV panels have been installed and all seems to be working but they don't seem to be connected as yet.

I have a look at the Chairman's office. It still hasn't been sorted out. There's a huge gap between the new vent and the wall, its dusty, the furniture is in the wrong place and it looks untidy. I speak to Steve about getting the vent sorted out, get John to help me move the furniture and ask Wendy to get the cleaners on the case when they come in tomorrow.

The data guys still haven't installed the two data points on the first flooor so I get the shelves put back in place and tell Steve that they can organise the clearance and move when they do turn up. Not impressed as this should have been done some time ago.

Steve and I go and visit the team that are having problems with the lights. I make my standard recommendation that they move the people around rather than play around any more with the lights, the manager agrees and we leave her to it.

The PV panels are now starting to cause a problem. The machinery has been installed in the roof void. I ask the climate change officer to get price from British Gas for moving them. I ask our guys to give me a price for building platforms, handrails, inspection hatches and lighting in the roof void. My view is that we need to get them commissioned quickly and then we can sort out the final proposal based on time and costs. I subsequently get a call from a Counciloor trying to force me down a particular path - I suspect that the climate change officer has been a bit devious and is trying to force me down a path that easier for him. I tell the councillor that we will take the most cost effective and efficient route. Silly Prat!

The IT contract raises its head. Discussions on staff being transferred as well as costs, especially the lawyers charges, pops up and there are some email discussions on it.

We have three TVs to be installed: Chief Exec's office, meeting room and the Councillors room. I show the guys where they need to go and they're put up later in the day - however, power cables and antenna wires have disappeared in the moves and we need to get some in. What a bugger!
