Leisurely breakfast with Paddy and Mave. Blake has realised that they feed the bacon fat to the birds by leaving it on the bird table. He keeps asking (as dogs do: staring at me and nudging me until I open the door!) to go out. I'm fooled at first but then can see him through the french windows so he's banned from going out.
P&M takes us to Outwoods. Great name for a place! I wonder aloud if there is an Inwoods. Another managed forest area. Lovely walks, composty leaves underfoot, bare trees, lots of dogs for Blake to play with. Its a gorgeous day and we have a leisurely stroll through the woods.
Lunch on soup and the homemade bread that Mave put together on the previous day. Just right after a walk and before a car journey. We make plans to meet up again later in the year. We have had a great weekend and have really enjoyed their company so want to fix a repeat.
The drive back is fairly uneventful. The traffic flows well, there are an awful lot of Asda lorries - they seem to have a policy to travel on Sunday! - and a few Sunday drivers, one diversion and we're back home in two and a half hours.
Blake flakes out once we get home. Marian and I potter around, get some chores done and settle down in front the telly.
Lovely weekend.
