Relaxing morning. Eggs, bacon, toast and coffee at maison Powell and then off for a walk round Brad park which is a five minute drive away from P+M's. Its a glorious sunny morning with a brisk wind. Very pleasant for walking and when the breeze is behind us it is positively balmy.
We stroll around for a good long walk, Blake makes a few friends and has a dip in a nearby stream. Paddy takes us to an abbey/monastery on the way out for lunch. Lovely setting and worth a re-visit sometime in the future.
Down to the pub for lunch and a beer and some more chat. Lovely pubby feel, the barmaids spoil Blake with love and dog biscuits.
Off to Shepshed to get some bits from the Co (someone nicked the op so they don't have a co-op but they have a co). Afterwards we go to their other local. Another round of drinks - Paddy and I are doing the beers and the girls are being good - Marian is driving!
Off home to watch the rugby - England vs Wales in the 6 Nations. Its a good game. Very close right up to the final minute. Wales wins 19 - 12. They win the Triple Crown and are in a position for the Grand Slam.
We pop out again for a couple of beers/wines/diet cokes before dinner. Another of P&M's locals. More chat and general chin wag.
Back home for home-cooked dinner. Its delicious. We continue chatting, eating and drinking well into the night. Its amazing that there is so much talk, chat, conversation and bullshit to be found in four people. That alcohol has a lot to answer for! Actually, we cover a lot of territory in terms of chat: music, fiction, fact, politics, a bit of religion, friends, geography, family, inner thoughts, whatever pops up. Its great.
