A relaxing day

we have a long lie-in after our night out. the dog comes upstairs to check that we're at home and to remind us that he needs feeding. I eventually get up and sort him out. He's funny: he refuses to go outside before I feed him. He needs food in his tummy before he can go and do his business outside.

We have leisurely breakfast and tackle the crossword that we started yesterday. make a bit more of an inroad.

We have decided to re-visit Goldhanger and walk along the seawall again. it's a lot colder today with a very cold breeze. Luckily we are well prepared for this with several layers of clothes - although Marian does wish that she had he thermals on today!

It's a lot busier today than the last time we were here. This is because it's the weekend and lots of people are out with their dogs.
It's good to get some fresh air and stretch our legs. I take a couple of snaps with my phone - including the long-legged shadows: still looking for the 'killer' pic! Well, one can dream. Back home and it's time for food again! Does feel like a never ending cycle of eating and washing up!
We finish the crossword - well get it as far as the last four but decide that we're getting bored with it now so its shelved.
I get on with the boring household chores - vacuuming, sorting out the papers, setting up the compost bin and such like stuff. I do some more clearing out of stuff from the clutter of the house. Another stroll down memory lane as I go through old items and pictures. Going to have some vivid dreams again - I've been thinking about my Dad a lot even though he has been dead for over 21 years now. This is because I've been finding and reading his letters as I have been tidying up as well as the fact that Marian has been dealing with the problems her own parents have been going through.
It does impact on my dreams as the brain reshuffles its indexes and files away new information and reorganises its memories. I'm 'lucky in that I have a good recall of my dreams although there are days where I know that I've dreamt a particular something but can't quite put my finger on it and every time I get near to remembering it scuttles away - bit like that Pink Floyd song where he sees himself as a child out of the corner of his eye but as he looks the child not there.
We start planning for next Saturday. We calculate that we'll have 17 people over - it would have been more but Odette's kids aren't coming after all. Apart from Madison we'll be all grown-ups. Oh well, at least we can cuss and swear! As if!
We'll squeeze everyone into the kitchen. It's more informal and a nice space for these events.
I'm going to post this now as it's going to be a quiet evening in front the telly. The last episode of Sherlock Holmes is one and we're looking forward to that.
