Here goes with day 2 - don't worry I won't countdown all the days like this!
It's a bank holiday so we have a mini-lie in. Quiet morning but then hear from Pascale and Alex who say that they're interested in walking the dogs with us. We decide to go to Goldhanger and walk along the river wall taking in a detour to Heybridge if the little dog is up to it (he's only 5 months).
It's a glorious sunny day but very windy - no need to breathe as the air is forced into your lungs. It's very refreshing and gets the appetite going. We get part way to Heybridge but decide to head back to the pub before the kitchen closes and they stop serving food.
We go to the Chequers next to the church. It's a great pub which is dog friendly, does good food, has very friendly staff and sells real ale. It's always crowded but well worth a visit. I recommend it.
