Last day........

.......of my 60th year!

Tomorrow I'm 60!

A warmer but wetter day. It's not too bad - a bit of drizzle but bearable. I'm getting stuck in to my new book. Love it! This man is good with his writing and description. He has a woman's eye for describing colours and feelings but a man's eye for things and weapons and ideas. Very readable!

I write my monthly report just before Cherie's team meeting. The meeting is as lively as usual. I like them. A good way to catch up with the other managers - although I work close to them the work on the refurbishment means that I don't see much of them on a regular basis.

I have to leave the meeting to catch up with the training team to show them how to use the Smart board we had installed for them. I spend 15 minutes waiting for them in the training room and then go off to find them. They're sitting at their desks waiting for me - bless them!

I walk them through the process for using the board - its easy enough but they need reassurance. Cherie walks in part way and tells them that they have to let me go as I'm 60 tomorrow and she wants me released to go to the pub with her and the rest of the team!

I meet up with Matt and Tracey who're waiting for me and stroll down to the pub. I only plan to be there for a hour or two but end up stuck in there till 4!

A lovely unexpected afternoon. They're not sure what my plans are for tomorrow so have set up the afternoon to celebrate with me. Very nice. All the more pleasant for being so totally unexpected as my old boss used to say!

A few pints later I head back to the office and catch up with afternoon emails and my sandwich which I bought in the morning.

Head off home and catch up with Marian and Blake. We have had news from the lawyers about the hedge dispute - I don't like it as I feel that the lawyers have been pussy-footing and we have been caught on the hop every time by the other side. Marian and I decide that we need to meet up with them to talk this through in more detail!
