First snow.....

......of 2012! Well, its more a flecking of snow than a snowfall! Its quite damp and rainy when I leave home but very cold and bits of snow coming down when i get to Braintree an hour later. Its not unpleasant.

Its a bit weird as the book I'm reading has a number of scenes set in a very cold climate and atmosphere. Actually sitting in such an environment whilst reading the book really gets me into the book with feeling!

I meet with the site manger and look at our refurbishment programme. We spend some time on this cos' I need him to get his programme delivered a week earlier than his company has planned. They are showing a delivery on 9th April but I want it back on the 2nd as I have promised Essex County Council that they can start putting their people into the second floor from 1st April. Back at my desk I read through the agreement that we're trying to put in place with the other councils involved in the ICT contract. Its very dry and boring but we've a teleconference scheduled for later in the week. In between, I check out the problem with the sound equipment in the training room, speak to Matt about his web strategy paper and a few snagging problems we still have in the building. I come across a classic GAL!: One of the women has complained about the brightness of the lighting and asked for the lamp to be removed from her area. I do this and check with her afterwards about I'd she's OK. She tells me that the lighting is now fine but someone has just eaten an orange and she has a headache as a result! What can you say! Get a life!
