Well, not really. It's in a building in Colchester where we meet with the other 3 councils and the ICT company that won the bid for providing the services to our councils. This is ground breaking stuff as we are the first into such a situation where one company provides these services jointly to 4 self-contained local government organisations.
Its a sunny day - very different to yesterday. In more ways than one as the trains also run well into Colchester. Nice surprise.
I get there quite early, before the town starts its business. The sun and quiet gave the place a distinguished air. It's cold and windy though.
I like it.
I've always had a soft spot for Colchester with the castle, wedding cake town hall, water tower and the hill on which its built which gives it a real character.
Its like taking a trip down memory lane as I walk past Marian's old office (Dimdore's) and then the VI form college where Pascale (& Steve) spent their last two years in Colchester. Great memories for me although I suspect that they wouldn't be as great for them.
The meeting goes well and we iron out a number of problems with some give and take on both sides. There is a will to make this work and a very positive attitude prevails. We leave feeling hopeful that this will be resolved in the next week.
