Back on schedule

Oh well! One of the perils of writing and following a blog: the writer and his/her promptness to keep it up to date. I promise I'll try to be prompt in future but can't give a cast-iron guarantee on this. What else can you e/pect from an over-60!
I wake at 8 but give myself an extra 5 minutes and wake up an hour later. I go and feed the dogs to discover that they've both been fast asleep until they heard me coming down the stairs. They'd both crashed out at about midnight but had been playing nonstop since 5 pm the previous day. Its not surprising that they're knackered.
Everyone's coming back for breakfast - except Kevin and Sheryl - so I lay out the table in preparation. We're having eggy bread, sausages, bacon, tomatoes and beans for 15 and a half (Madison is coming today!). I put out the fruit salad and get out the orange juice, fire up the BBQ and set up the coffee machine - sometimes I think we could run a good bed and breakfast place! Marian, Pascale and Alex setup the food being cooked in the kitchen and then Alex keeps me company whilst I cook the bacon and sausages on the BBQ. It all works out well and we have everyone filled and satisfied in good time.
Phil checks the car again and finds out a bit more about our electronic proble,m. We need to do some more research to find out what's the bug.
People head off to their various commitments and things they need to do and eventually its just a handful of us left. Marian and I take Blake for a walk whilst Andy, Kay and Courtney relax and catch up on their energy.
Its lovely and sunny and very pleasant whilst the wind is behind us. However, as soon as we face into the wind it becomes hard work. Its a very strong wind which makes it unpleasant to walk and difficult to breathe.
We head back and chat a bit more with A, K and C. But they have to go back home as well so we say cheerio.
The house feels big and empty with everyone gone. We do our various bits - sleep in Blake's case - and then have a very pleasant interlude with the smiths who pop in to say hello,  to wish me happy birthday and to deliver pressies. Very nice. We chat over beer (one of their presents to me) and cake and catch up on their gossip whilst we bring them up to date with ours.
We're back in a big empty house but are feeling nicely satisfied and relaxed after a super weekend - in my case 4 days - which I plan to drag out for the next 21 months.
Why 21 months? Well, I plan to celebrate the next year just for me but its 30 years of marriage in September so that will have to have another year tacked on to it: hence the 21 months as this will drag on until September 2013!
